9 September 2025 – Rosenblatt Law is pleased to share that its Founder, Ian Rosenblatt OBE, has been has appointed chair of the Royal Albert Hall’s Capital Appeal, as it seeks to raise £50m to pay for an ambitious estate plan that will transform the venue across 15 years.

Ian Rosenblatt OBE, a lawyer, entrepreneur and lifelong music fan, will lead the campaign, which will fund improvements of facilities for artists, audiences and young people taking part in engagement activities at the Grade I listed concert hall.

The Hall’s president, James Max, said: “We’re so excited to be launching our Capital Appeal. This marks the next stage in the history and evolution of this beloved national institution. We couldn’t have found a better person to lead our efforts than Ian. His intelligence, energy, and love of music and the arts will help to power a campaign essential for the future health and success of the Hall.”

Rosenblatt is a former trustee and chair of the development board at the National Museums Liverpool, the city of his birth. He has a history of promoting exceptional live music: in 2000, he launched the Rosenblatt Recital Series, presenting over 200 opera recitals featuring emerging and established international singers including Juan Diego Florez, Jose Cura, Carlos Alvarez, Angel Blue, and Ailyn Perez. He also served as honorary co-treasurer of the Royal Philharmonic Society and as a trustee of the Susan Chilcott Scholarship. He was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2016 Birthday Honours for philanthropic services to music. Professionally, he founded the City law firm, Rosenblatt Law, in 1989. He lives in London with his wife, Emma.

The Royal Albert Hall was opened in 1871 by Queen Victoria and has ever since played host to a who’s who of renowned figures from across the arts and sciences, politics and sport, among them Albert Einstein, Muhammad Ali, Billie Holiday, Giuseppi Verdi, The Beatles and Beyoncé.

Full details of its capital appeal, and the planned improvements to the building, will be announced in November.
